Agile and versatile plastics industry is a clear bright spot in Finland, where economy otherwise looks not so good.
In 2014, a number of plastic converters have made substantial investments in Finland. In particular, Tampere and Lahti Region plastics companies have invested in the production and the good news is available in other provinces as well. The total amount of investments in 2014 was EUR 30 million. And the investment wave will be even stronger in 2015. Wipak Oy’s brand new production line worth EUR 20 million in Nastola is a good example of this.
Plastics Industry Federation's general manager
Vesa Kärhä told about these and other investments in the plastics and technology industry conference in 29.01.2015 Hämeenlinna.
"This is just the beginning. New openings are coming to other plastic product areas as well. Plastic products are needed in both good times and bad. It's great that plastics, plastic products and the production of the necessary machinery & tools are produced in Finland as well. "
The plastics industry in Finland consists of almost 600 companies, employs about 12 000 people, and has the annual turnover in excess of 3 billion euros. Plastic industry success factors in Finland are know-how, quality and reliability. Whatever ever is done - is done well.
